The International day of persons with disability celebrated by meeting members

On December 3th 2017, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla organized meeting for interested members regarding to the International day of persons with disability. Despite of bad weather, more than twenty members of a different age came. Persons who don't have opportunity to meet often, enjoyed and had coffee. Participants formed a small groups and talked to each other.

Interest for such kind of activities shows that we should organize them in future. All what we need is smile and good humor.

Audio darts promotion on Christmas bazar in German Embassy in Sarajevo

German Embassy in Sarajevo every year organizes Christmas bazar at the beginning of December. The money earned by selling of products made by Embassy's staff are used in humanitarian purpose. Other programs of a different character are also part of the event.

This year, their guests were tvisually impaired children and youth, members of the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla. Embassy donated audio darts to the Association within the development of sports for persons with disability.

Results of research about violence against children presented in Tuzla

Results of research situation of vioeance against children in Tuzla City, conducted within the project Increasing capacities of NEVAC network members for monitoring vioeance against children in Bosnia and herzegovina were presented in Primary school Miladije on December 1th 2017. NEVAC network gathers more than 30 organizations which in a different ways work in the field of violence against children. The project is implemented under umbrella of UNICEF and coordination for eleven includid organization realized NGO Zdravo da ste from Banja Luka.

Study visi to Latvia

DVV International, Institute for international cooperation of German Association of higher national schools organized study trip to Latvia from 21 to 25 11th 2017 with the aim of visit rehabilitation centres for the blind. Participants were representatives of blind organization from Armenia, Gruzia, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They wre situated in Days hotel in Riga, the capital of Latvia.

On 22th 11, the aim of visit was the village for the blind situated in Riga. You can arrive there by accessible public transportation.

Due to audio information about stations, blind person use tram without any problem. Audible traffic light signals enables safely moving around.

Summer campfor visually impaired children and youth

As a final activity of the project Step forward in inter entity cooperation for visually impaired children and youth which the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla implements in partnership with the Centre for children with developmental disorders Future Derventa, with support of American Embassy in Sarajevo, from August 27th to 2th September 2017 was organized summer camp for visuall impaired children and youth in the lake of Boracko. This event had educational and amusing character. Participants were placed in motel and bungalow and devided into six groups of which one group consisted of the children. Each group had the leader whom they could address in any time.

Organized conference about the position of blind women

With financial support of the federal ministry for social affairs, Women Ecumenical Initiative and Tuzla municipality, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla organized the conference about the position of blind and partially sighted women from 14th to 16th August 2017 in the Hotel of Orion Ormanica. The aim of the conference with 30 participants, blind and partially sighted women from Tuzla canton was education, information and exchange experiences. Representatives of the Association of the blind from Zivinice and Gracanica participated to opening ceremony.


The Fourth Federal Talking Darts Championship for Blind and Visually Impaired Persons was held in motel Rudar on 13 and 14 May 2017 in the organization of the Association of Visually Impaired Persons of Tuzla and with support of the Association of the Blind of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. There were nine (9) sports teams and associations from Sarajevo, Bihac, Tuzla, Zivinnice and Visoko. The City of Tuzla did not have a chance to organize any sports competition for the blind and visually impaired persons at the Federal level so far.

One-day trip to Etno Village Stanisic

The Association of Visually Impaired Citizens of Tuzla organized a one-day trip to Etno Village Stanisic on 6 May 2017 for all the members that were interested in going which is a part of the annual work program of the Association. There were 46 members including the assistants from Tuzla, Kalesija, Sapna and Celic. The Association as the organizer provided free transportation.

Traditional Labor Day Social Event held for Children with Disabilities and Children without Parental Care

The Mayor of Tuzla City, Jasmin Imamovic, organized The Traditional Social gathering on 27 April at 11:30 for the children with disabilities and children without parental care. There were children with disabilities, members of various NGOs and institutions from Tuzla City area, as well as their parents, teachers and proteges of the Institution for Children without Parental Care. Comparing the previous years, the program was slightly different.

Association for Visually Impaired Citizens of Tuzla held Annual Assembly

The Annual Assembly of the Association for Visually Impaired Citizens of Tuzla was held on 22 Aprile 2017. There were 10 out of 13 representatives of the Assembly. The absent members justified their absence. The Assembly was presided by Duro Bakic, the president of the Assembly.

The official financial report for 2016 was submitted and program documents were adopted. The constructive discussion preceded the adoption of the program documents. General opinion is that the work of the Association for the previous year could be considered successful regarding socio-economic situation in the society.

The Decision on the amount of the annual fee in the amount of BAM 12 was made.

The Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla got a valuable donation

In Aprile 2017, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla got a valuable donation, fifteen laptop computers. The idea was born when Phil Nathan from United Kingdom, activist of International lions initiative visited this Association on initiative of Sabina Mujezinovic. The subject of discusion were the needs and problems of visually impaired persons, and Mr. Nathan offered his help in enabling aids.
