The Association of visually impaired citizens organized rception regarding to the International day of persons with disability for donors, coworkers and volunteers

Without support of donors, coworkers and volunteers, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla would have problem in realization of wide range activities. Along with financial aid, in 2015, they got support in promotion, enabling aids, equipment, building material, voluntary work, foodstuffs, etc. Its importance is bigger, if we take into account that the Association is not financed from budgets of towns and municipalities where work, bnaither from Budget of Tuzla canton.

Through cooperation to better accessibility of East Bosnia Museum for the blind

Cooperation between East Bosnia museum and Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla has started in February 2015 after workshop about accessibility of museums for persons with disability organized in Art galery Tuzla. This event has contributed to increasing understanding of blind person's needs to experience museum art which is mainly inaccessible because of inability to touch exhibits in the most museums.

Organized meeting with partially sighted student's parents

Inaccessibility of textbooks in alternative formats is one of many barriers with which visually impaired pupils, who attend regular schools at the area of Tuzla canton are confronted. In order to solv long-term problem of their children, parents address to Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla. In cooperation with institutions in charge, the Association guides activities for improvement access to education for above mentioned group of pupils. On November 4th, 2015, they organized meeting with partially sighted pupil's parents, where Along with representatives of parents and Association were present representatives of the ministry for education of Tuzla canton, pedagogical institution and department for visual impairment o Education and rehabilitation faculty.

The week of the child celebrated by competition in reading Braille

Within the project of Making preconditions for better support to blind students in inclusion, funded by the ministry for work and social care of Tuzla canton and federal ministry for social care, on October 03 2015, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla organized competition in reading Bralle for blind students from Tuzla canton who attend primary and secondary schools. The aim of Activity the week of the child celebration was Braille letter promotion as fundamental form of literacy.

Organized elective Assembly of the Association

According to Statute, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla organizes elective Assembly each four years where members of the Assembly, president and vice president of the Assembly and president and vice president of the Association are elected. Over 50 members of the Association, as well as parents of juvenile members atended elective Assembly which took place on September 19th 2015 in the room of National and university library in Tuzla.

The second International tournament in audio darts organized in Tuzla

With help of Tuzla city, Lions Club Tuzla and Faculti for physical education and sport, on September 12th 2015, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla organized the Second International tournament in audio darts with the aim of development regional cooperation between blind and promotion of darts as one of new sports. The tournament on which six teams from Vinkovci, Novi Sad, Bihac, Sarajevo, Visoko and Tuzla took part, preceded presentation of portable audio darts by owner of company Megaelectronic from Vukovar. Each darts team has four members two blind and two partially sighted. They played by Berger system in five rounds.

Organized camp for visually impaired youth

From July 22th to 24th 2015, on the lake nea of Doboj, the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla organized camp for visually impaired youth with the name of Rotary SLOBIHITA. In the name of the camp are the first letters of countries who donated the part of equipment, as well as the host country. 13 person took part including volunteers for support. The ams of the camp were: socialization, encouraging of independence and education of visually impaired youth who took part in setting tents, food preparation, as well as workshops and activities in the camp.

Transfer of donated camp equipment

With the aim of advancement cooperation, the group of members of Rotaract Tuzla 99 visited the Asociation of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla at the beginning of June 2015. Meeting of ten members of Rotaract Tuzla and fifteen members of the Association had working and fun componen. Both organizations presented their activities in short. They talked about visually impaired persons problems and needs focusing on youth who are at the margin of society.

Advancement of cooperation by organizing picnic

The Association of visuali impaired citizens of Tuzlaand Primary school Miladije organized common picnic on Biambare for the second time on May 30th 2015. The first picnic was a year ago. The Association collected the group of blind and partially sighted children and youth while the group of students and teachers went in the name of friendly school. The aim of the event was disssemination of knowledge about approach to blind persons through out games.

Tuzla mufty visited the Association of visually impaired citizens

Cooperation between Tuzla mufty and the Association has started during Bajram reception in October 2014 for few non-governmental organizations and institutions. Representative of the Association, Tifa Tucic pointed out to the problem of the lack of Braille embosser. The mufty took active part in solving this problem.

Workshop Persons with disability in museums organized in International galery of portraits in Tuzla

Within the project Persons with disability in museums, implemented by Foundation Cultural heritage without borders and Balcan network of museums with help of American embassy in Sarajevo and Stavros Niarchos Foundation, from February 11th to 13th 2015 workshop took place in International galery of portraits in Tuzla. The aim of the project is advancing accessibility of museums and galeries for persons with disability, enable their participation in activities which museums implement, as well as associating museums, galeries and other cultural institutions with persons with disability.
