SUMMER CAMPFOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN AND YOUTH

As a final activity of the project Step forward in inter entity cooperation for visually impaired children and youth which the Association of visually impaired citizens of Tuzla implements in partnership with the Centre for children with developmental disorders Future Derventa, with support of American Embassy in Sarajevo, from August 27th to 2th September 2017 was organized summer camp for visuall impaired children and youth in the lake of Boracko. This event had educational and amusing character. Participants were placed in motel and bungalow and devided into six groups of which one group consisted of the children. Each group had the leader whom they could address in any time.

The program which was created in the way that everyone could participated consisted of: morning exercises, educational workshops, one-day excursion in Mostar, Neretva rafting, evening of music, games without borders and cultural content.

One-day excursion in Mostar was opportunity to see the Old bridge and old part of the city.

Educators from two partner's organizations prepared and organized interactive workshops on the following topics: tolrance, communication, rehabilitation and employment, the importance of sports and recreation as well as music workshop.

Each group could register one participant for each of five discipline. They closed their eyes during all games.

Cultural pogram consisted of rectals, drama and musical parts. Tanja, Melisa and Almedina read a short sententious stories in Braille. Jokes in interpretation of boys Nenad and Vladimir were interesting. Melisa Music and Kristina Tomic showd their music talents. Although they had only few days fto practice, actors amateurs worked hard to prepare performance.

Evaluation was made close to campfire. All participants have a good impressions. Many of them would like to meet again in the same or other place.
